People have this innate ability to seek for comfort whenever they feel stressed. Our daily responsibilities can take their toll on a lot of us, and especially with the hot weather being conducted by nature lately, a close-by mall that's a five-minute ride away will seem like the best get-away for anybody.
When students have some free time available, going to the malls and taking a breather always seems like the best option for anyone. For some students over at a college in Lahug, Cebu City, the Ayala Mall in Cebu Business Park was the one place to chill-out. It was there that a group of friends decided to continue a plan that got lost in all the academic and organizational responsibilities a few years ago. This was a plan to take a roundwheel tour of all the coffee shops in the Ayala Mall.
The plan got conjured up on a late afternoon in a Gloria Jeans Coffee branch in Ayala. Sadly, that place has been replaced by another store, yet the plan remains. For this particular day, and to make up for all the lost time, these group of friends visited two coffee shops and tried at least one of their products. Here's a quick review of the day of sharing time over coffee.
Bo's Caramelo Froccino and Ball Talk
Bo's Coffee was our first stop for the day. This branch located at the Terraces of Ayala Cebu is one cool place, having a good overview just outside it's glass windows towards the gardens of the Terraces. This may have been the second time I stayed at this branch for the past week – the first one belongs to a special place in my heart. Nevertheless, this day's scene was better suited for the mid-day heat, and as we slowly consumed our drinks we decided to call up a few more of our friends to join us and take part in small talk. Hanging out was something we weren't able to do very much over the summer break because of work, so catching up was something we couldn't say 'no' to.
I've been a great fan of Bo's cookies, and my favorite drink being the Caramelo Froccino they offer at a reasonable price. We did get to chance upon couch seats for the day, so the experience of that event was very much beefed up with comfort and relaxation. After some more small talk on basketball rivalries, relationship and relational matters, and more on the personal side of things, we decided to leave a good memory untouched and grab some lunch.
Seattle's Best JavaKula and A Medical Patch
We did some more walking around after lunch, and decided to stop by our next destination – Seattle's Best located at the ground floor of Ayala Cebu right across Gelatissimo. It was here that we ordered two JavaKula drinks – the first being Chai Tea JavaKula and the second being my favorite – Double Chocolate Mint JavaKula. These drinks were really good – come to think about it, we were hanging out at a cool place, with a cooler ambience, and even better company. It was here where we really did get to talk about the really random things, and even take some more pictures of ourselves. The time was something we really enjoyed, especially with the people you consider your true friends.
Time came up after a while though, so we proceeded on to going back to the college for our first classes for the semester. For whatever we would have leaned later that day, there was no way that it was going to be overlapped by the fun time we had for a few good hours.
Truly, nothing beats spending time over a cup of coffee.
